Being Thankful

Today hasn’t been the best of days. My mom, myself, and 5 boys (ranging in age from 2 to 24) all in the same house and nobody seems to be getting along very well with anybody. Every time I turn around, someone is mad, arguing, hurt, etc.

Doesn’t seem like much to be thankful about, but here goes…
I am thankful
— that we are all alive and healthy.
— that I have a pretty good relationship with most of my family members.
— that within hours or minutes the arguments will be forgotten and we’ll be talking and laughing together.
— that, no matter how bad I mess up, all I have to do is ask and I will be forgiven.
— that, despite what I deserve, God has been gracious to me and given me a new life in Him and nothing can take that away. (Romans 8:38-39)

I Thessalonians 5:18 says, “In every thing give thanks…”
God doesn’t say to be thankful FOR everything, but IN everything. So, no matter what’s going on or how I feel at the moment, I can and should find something to be thankful.
