“Firethorn” by Ronie Kendig

Firethorn (Discarded Heroes #4)

I finished “Firethorn” by Ronie Kendig on Tuesday. Great book! I love the way she writes. However, I was pretty disappointed to find out that this would be the last book in the “Discarded Heroes” series. I was really looking forward to reading books about all the other guys on the Nightshade Team. 😦

I wish that things had turned out differently for Marshall in particular — he was one of my favorites and I’ve wanted to read “his book” almost from the very beginning of the series.

I confess, I did have tears in my eyes during some of the last pages. Though the actual final ending wasn’t sad, some of the parts leading up to it were.

One thing I especially like about this series is the way Kendig wrote the relationships among the guys on the Nightshade Team.  They’re like real brothers — I have often noticed similar characteristics in the relationships among my own brothers.

I would definitely recommend this series!  It’s very good!  🙂
