I’m standing in the check out line with my younger brother when he turns to me and utters this statement: “You need a boyfriend.”
Surprised, I asked him, “Why do you say that?”
Motioning to the small bouquet of flowers I’m holding, he replies, “If you had a boyfriend, you wouldn’t have to buy yourself flowers.”
Gosh! Ya gotta love this kid’s logic! 🙂
The truth is, I do buy flowers for myself. In fact, I’m the only person who buys flowers for me. And — though it would be nice to have one — I don’t want a boyfriend just so I’ll have somebody to buy me flowers. Flowers should just be a bonus.
So… until something changes, I’ll keep buying flowers for me. I mean, why wait around for a boyfriend? I like flowers. I want flowers to put in a vase in my room. I go buy some flowers. It’s as simple as that. Though, having someone to buy them for me would be nice….
Note to my little brother: If / when I get a boyfriend, please put a bug — a really big bug — in his ear about how much I love flowers. Flowers make me extremely happy! 🙂
