The Phantom of the Opera is there inside my mind…

…and my brothers’ minds too!  😉

Okay, here’s the situation: I think I’m about to drive my brother crazy.  Not that he isn’t crazy already…  I guess I’m driving him crazier, then.  That what he’s claiming anyway.  How am I doing this?  Let me try to explain.

I love music and I often play my ipod over the surround sound system.  So, the other day, I was really hankering for some Phantom of the Opera music.  I plugged the ipod in and turned it up.  Pretty soon, my brother (who was “hiding from my music” in another room) was humming the songs without even realizing it.  😉  Listening to the music, of course, made me want to watch the movie.  I put it in, but didn’t get to watch all of it.  The next day, I decided that I  would watch the whole movie over again rather than just finish it.

Did I mention that I’ve been listening to and singing the songs off and on during the course of about 2 weeks?

Well, it seems that my brother isn’t as capable of ignoring things as he thought he was…  He’s been singing the songs so much that my other brothers are starting to pick up on the lyrics and hum along before saying, “Would you stop it?!  You’re driving me crazy!  You’ve got me singing it now!!”  I confess that I laugh every time they do this and that just aggravates them more.  It’s just so funny!  😉

Anyway, now I’m reading the book too.  I haven’t gotten very far in it yet, but it’s been really good.  My brothers tend to roll their eyes when they see me reading it.  It’s all for show, though.  I know this because they’ve started asking me things about the story.  They’ll be wanting to read it before long!  🙂

Below are three links to videos on YouTube of my favorite songs from the movie.  Just gotta love Gerard Butler‘s voice!!  *sigh*

Enjoy!!  😉

The All I Ask Of You Reprise is my absolute favorite part of the movie. So full of emotion! And yes, you gotta love Gerard Butler’s voice. Amazing.

The book is sooo much better than the movie. I’m glad I read it first. My favorite part is when he’s telling his friend about her kissing him. It really makes you think about how awful and lonely his life must have been. Again, so full of emotion.

I KNOW! He does such an awesome job in that scene! Bro #5 was like “And WHY do you like that part so much?” When I explained, he said, “I guess that makes sense…” 😉

I can’t wait to read some more!

Love this movie!!! Have you ever read the book “Phantom” by Susan Kay? It is by far the best rendition of Erik EVER!!! Of course, the original is great too, but the Phantom book goes into more detail about Erik’s life that the original work briefly passes. If you’re ever on Pinterest check out my Phantom of the Opera board. I think you will like it. 🙂

I haven’t read “Phantom”, but it sounds good. I’ll have to see about getting it. Thanks for the recommendation! 😉
