Now there’s a name for ya! — #5

Up next… letter E!

Elizabeth — consecrated to God
Emma — the healer of the universe
Elianna/Elyannah — my God has answered
Elise — consecrated to God
Ekaterina — one who is pure
Éowyn — (from “Lord of the Rings”) joy from horses
Evelynn — (from an old surname) life-giving
Emilie/Emma-Leigh — ambitious, industrious
Everleigh/Everley — from the boar meadow
Emberlynn — as precious as a beautiful jewel
Eden —  a bear cub
Eleanor — a shining light

You’ll notice that the list of girl names versus boy names is pretty unbalanced for this post.  There just aren’t all that many boy names that begin with “E” that I like.  There are some, though, and those are the ones listed below. 🙂

Erik — honorable ruler
Eli — the highest
Éomer — (from “Lord of the Rings”) horse-famous
Egan — little fire

If you enjoyed this post, please leave a comment and let me know!  Or share some of your favorite “E-names” with me; I’m always interested in hearing what names other people like! 🙂

See my previous posts HERE.  And be sure to come back for another post next Friday! 🙂

  1. LOL! I really like this – Eowyn and Eomer would be on this list, but I apparently didn’t get that 😉
Got to laugh with my sis about it though! 🙂 A pity I can’t just take those…

    Here’s some E guy names I like:
Elijah/Elias: The LORD is my God
    Eorl: nobleman
    Errol: nobleman
Erik also makes the list, but you already gave that one. 🙂

    And as for girl names:
    Elise: Consecrated to God
    Elizabeth/Elisabeth: Consecrated to God
    Eloise: renowned in battle
    Elsa: pledged to God
    Emily: Industrious; striving
Erica: eternal ruler; forever strong; noble
    Ethel: Noble
    Evangeline: Bearer of good news

Oh! I met the sweetest girl named Evelyn and the meaning totally suits her! I wish I still saw her from time to time…..I honestly don’t know if I will ever see her again, but I pray that she will be the same light to someone else’s life, as she was mine. 🙂
My youth pastor’s little girl’s name is Eden and she is such a little doll! We all just love her!
I really don’t have any other names to add to your list though, you pretty much covered my favs:-)
