Now there’s a name for ya! — #17

Another combination post?  Yeah… sort of.  See, the thing is, I don’t really like any names that start with U.  Actually, that’s not exactly true.  I do like ONE name that starts with U.

BOY
Ulrich —
a ruler

So, there it is!  My one U-name. 😛

*                                        *                                        *

And now it’s time to move on to the letter V!

There actually aren’t very many V-names that I like either, but there are a few….. 😉

GIRL
Veronika/Veronyka — a true likeness or image
Valarie — strength, valor
Valencia — bravery
Vonda — a wanderer
Velika — the great one
Vashti — beautiful one

*                                        *                                        *

BOY
Viktor — victor, conqueror
Vincent/Vince — victor, conqueror
Vladimir — prince; a powerful ruler

*                                        *                                        *

If you enjoyed this post, please leave a comment and let me know!  Or share some of your favorite U- or V-names with me; I’m always interested in hearing what names other people like! 🙂

See my previous posts HERE.  And be sure to come back for another post next Friday! 🙂

  1. I’m with you on U names. Off the top of my head, the only one I can think of that I like is Undine. I have always liked the name Vashti. And I’ve never heard of Velika, but I like it, obviously. 😉

    Vladimir! Another fave, especially since you can shorten it to Vlad, which sounds totally rad. I’ll stop now. ;P

      There just aren’t that many U-names to choose from… :/ Lol! I don’t know (for sure) how you’re pronouncing Velika, but I prefer the “vel-uh-kuh” pronunciation. 😉

      Yes! I’ve always loved that name! And shortening it to Vlad? Oh yeah! 😉

  2. I don’t know too many U names, but I like this boy name:
    Vanir: wanderer
    Came across it randomly, and it was instantly claimed by my brother as a(n almost-nonexistent-)story name! Go figure

I'd love to hear from you! :)
