Welcome to Oklahoma

My mom sent this picture to me yesterday.  The caption read something like this: Sunny and warm over the weekend, snow and ice on the ground Monday. Enjoy Wednesday’s fall-like weather, because the cold air and snow will be back later this week!

I’m sorry to say that this is accurate.  We had 60+ degrees and sunshine here Thursday through Saturday, then the wind picked up and the temps dropped below freezing.  The sleet started falling before noon on Sunday and continued off and on throughout the afternoon and evening.  Snow started falling early Monday morning…  We only got a couple inches of snow, but it stuck around until the temperature warmed up to about 60 degrees on Wednesday.  And now the temperature has dropped back down below freezing and we’re expecting more ice and snow over the weekend.

While some may find this funny (go ahead and laugh if you want to, I don’t mind), my sinuses are about ready to kill me over these ridiculous weather changes and I now have bronchitis.  Tissues, cough drops, and a bottle of water have become my constant companions since Sunday.  And I haven’t wanted to look at a computer screen at all, or even wear my glasses– and, trust me, it is in no way a good idea for this extremely nearsighted girl to go without her glasses!  😛

But I am feeling better today than I have all week — Thank God!! — so I am now trying to get some things done around the house, catch up on my email (hasn’t been checked since last Saturday– yikes!!), get blog posts ready for next week, try to finish a book I started over a week ago (hanging my head in shame here — it should not have taken me so long to read this book)… all the while Pinterest notifications keep distracting me and my nose doesn’t want to stay away from the tissue box.  Yeah…..  Not getting much done this evening, I’m afraid.  Perhaps tomorrow..?
