Series for Younger Readers — Historical

I developed a taste for reading at a young age.  I often read above my age bracket (or so I was told) so I sometimes have a hard time knowing what books from my childhood to recommend to younger readers.  However, I believe I’ve chosen some good series for younger readers.  These are series that I enjoyed as a pre-teen and young teen, though some older teens and adults will enjoy these series as well.  They are all Christian and/or clean historical fiction books.  I hope you find some good books for yourself or some young readers in your life!  🙂

1)  Adventures of the Northwoods series  by  Lois Walfrid Johnson

2)  American Adventure series  by  Multiple Authors

3)  Anne of Green Gables series  by  L. M. Montgomery

4)  Dear America series  by  Multiple Authors

5)  Freedom Seekers series (aka The Riverboat Adventures series)  by Lois Walfrid Johnson

6)  Mandie series  by  Lois Gladys Leppard

7)  Royal Diaries series  by  Multiple Authors

8)  Viking Quest series  by  Lois Walfrid Johnson

Are there any Historical series that you would recommend for younger readers?  Please share!  And come back next Tuesday for a list of Contemporary series for those younger readers who may not enjoy history quite as much as I did.  😉

Thanks for sharing! It can be so hard to find good MG/YA historical fiction. Why is that? And Anne of Green Gables is a great series!
