When

When

When my heart is breaking
I know that God is there
And He will pick up the pieces
With tender loving care

When the tears of sorrow flow
My God hears my cry
And will with His gentle hand
Wipe all of my tears dry

When troubles overwhelm me
And trials come along
God will give me comfort and peace
And in the night a song

When I am hurting deeply
When my soul is wracked with pain
God is everything I need
Oh, praise His dear sweet name!

          Yes, I really did… 😜
Something he said in the sermon triggered this thought that just wouldn’t go away! So I wrote the first draft of this poem during Sunday morning service. 😉
Soon as I got it out of my head, I could concentrate again! 😄

I think this is the only poem I’ve written that wasn’t inspired by a character I was writing about…
