Cinematic Saturdays – The Princess Bride

Cinematic Saturdays - The Princess Bride

So… my brother (Bro #3, that is 😉 ) informed me about a month ago that his wife has never seen The Princess Bride.

She has never seen it.

This saddens me… 😦

So.  This post is for those of you out there who have never seen…..

(Brother, dear… I know you’re reading this.  So get your wife over here & help me convince her to watch The Princess Bride — you know… that movie you borrowed from me about a month ago. 😛 )

Yeah… anyway…..  Back to the movie! 😀

Prepare to die.

Do you always begin conversations this way?

Off to a roaring start, yes? 😉

Is this a kissing book?

Let me sum up.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.  –> Oh, I can’t tell you how many times I have used that line!

❤ And if you watch this movie today…..  then:

Well?  Are you just dying to watch it now??

If not…..  Oh well.  I’m done here.

I’m going now…..

… watch The Princess Bride.

Oh, wait.  That’s right– my brother has it!! 😥

(Maybe I’ll just go watch Pride and Prejudice to console myself.  Yep, all 5 1/2 hours of it! 😛 )

~ Storyline ~

Return to a time when men and swamps were swamps. Fire Swamps, that is. Full of quicksand and Rodents of Unusual Size. Lagoons were inhabited by shrieking eels. And the most beautiful woman in the world was named . . . Buttercup? Well, it’s a bent fairy tale. Complete with all the fencing, chasing, escapes, and silly accents you’d expect. Including such unique folk as Inigo Montoya, who has dreamed his whole life of finding the six-fingered man who killed his father. Fezzik is his enormous sidekick. And Max is the kvetching miracle man. Blonde Buttercup loves Westley, a poor stable boy. But when he’s captured by pirates, she’s chosen by evil Prince Humperdinck to be his princess bride. Along the way, she gets kidnapped, he gets killed. But it all ends up okay.

Inconceivable! 😉 The book “As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales from the Making of The Princess Bride” by Cary Elwes is well worth the read.
