About My Name

For those of you who don’t already know… Aerykah is not my real name.  When I first started doing things online as a teenager, my parents didn’t want me sharing my name with everyone, so I started using a pseudonym for my online stuff.  People started knowing me by that name, so I just kept using it.

If you’re wondering if I’m going to tell you what my real name is.  No, I’m not.  But I am going to answer a few questions I’ve gotten about this name.

1.)  How do you pronounce Aerykah?  —  It’s pronounced just like Erica.

2.)  Why do you spell it this way?  —  Because I like uniquely spelled names.

3.)  Why did you pick this name?  —  Mostly because I kinda fell in love with the spelling and the way it looks.  I don’t know about anyone else, but to me it just looks pretty.

4.)  How did you pick this name? — I met a little boy several years ago whose name was Aeryk.  I don’t know how or why his parents chose that name, but I liked it so I changed it up a bit and decided to use it for myself!

5.)  Is your real name similar to Aerykah?  —  Not really, no.

6.)  Do you mind if I call you Aery?  —  No, I don’t mind.  Some have mentioned that that’s easier for them, and I’m totally okay with that.
